NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS AUSTRALIANS SUCCESSFUL WINS FOR JARVIS AND ST. GLAIR [Peb United Pbess Association.} WELLINGTON, February 14. The New Zealand national surf championships were opened at Lyall Bay on Saturday in a strong, cold southerly, and concluded to-day. The Minister of Education (Hon. P. Fraser) officially opened the programme. The weather to-day also was cold with rain, but little wind. Results : NEW ZEALAND FOUR-MAN ALARM CHAMPIONSHIP. ROSLYN CUP—Holders, Lyall Bay, Wellington. The first New Zealander to leave the surf and race up the beach to the tape was Pelham, who- finished in fifth position. Then came B. Hodson (Australia), Matheson, and Dalton.
