One of the careers that is not overcrowded in Britain is that of veterinary surgeon. The Veterinary State Service wants 300 trained men for country areas, and has only secured 120 so tar. An Australian has made himself a set of teeth out of the jaw of an elephant killed in Africa 100 years ago. For many years the ivory served as an ornamentation on a set of bagpipe*.
