Our Auckland correspondent telegraphs:—A fresh week opened quietly with a moderate list of sales at the first call. These included Bank of New Zealand shares, which at 40s were unchanged, with the subsequent market very steady from 39s lid to 40s. Otherwise the bank section was very dull, a remark which also applies to insurances. The only inquiries were for Nationals at 18s 4d, and New Zealand at 61s 6d. Government stocks were again in good demand for all lines, with no sellers. Amongst the industrials Dominion Breweries were conspicuous, with offers of 28s for both ordinary and preference shares.. In the miscellanous classes the Woolworth group again engaged attention. New Zealands were quoted from £5 5s to £5 10s ; Sydneys from £5 14s to £5 16s : and West Australians from £5 6s to £5 17s. Mount Lyells continued their recent firmness, with buyers at 28s bd and no sellers. Other Australian lines were quiet.
