MONDAY, JULY 6. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) i DRUNKENNESS. A first offender was fined 12s 6d, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. No time was allowed for payment, the police stating that he was a sustenance man who spent his money on drink and sponged on his mother, an old age penA charge against another first offender. who came from the country armed with a cheque and was found drunk at Logan Park, was adjourned for 12 months. ' CHIMNEY ON FIRE. For allowing a chimney to catch fire Myra Lillioatt was convicted without penalty. MOTORIST FINED. William Guy Menzies, whose lorry was involved jn a collision with a milk float in Frederick street, was fined 20s and costs for failing to give way to traffic approaching on the right. MAINTENANCE. Robert M'Gowan was proceeded against on a complaint for affiliation and maintenance orders. After hearing evidence, the Magistrate made aniorder adjudging M'Gowan the father of the child, but refused to grant maintenance orders owing to M'Gowan’s financial position.
