LONG TACK SAM COMPANY Once again on Saturday night His Majesty’s Theatre was filled to capacity by an audience that thoroughly appreciated the fare provided by the Long Tack Sam Company. As an illusionist Long Tack Sam has few, if any, equals, and some of his tricks, while thoroughly mystifying, are so adroitly performed that one is compelled to wonder if, after all, there is not such a thing as black magic. His own particular troupe gives a performance that, spectacularly staged, is novel to a degree, and presented in a thoroughly finished and artistic manner. Miss Nee Sa Long, a charming and talented little lady, with a delightful stage presence is a host in herself, for in addition to being a dancer of unusual merit, she is on acrobat, a sinner, and an instrumentalist, whose wbrk is the last thing in stage artistry. The acrobatic members of the troupe do some bewildering feats of tumbling and balancing of a standard probably that has rarely been seen in Dunedin before. On. the vaudeville section of the programme there are some firstclass turns, prominent among which are those presented by Miss Dora Lmdsav a vivacious comedienne, the tour La Salles, a quartet of roller skaters, who give a breath-taking exhibition of skating, and Jandy, the French clown, whose musical repertoire is as varied as the collection of instruments he nlavs Mascotte and Maurice and Paul and Leon, dancers, and Astot, a vocalist, are other first-class performers on a vaudeville bill of high quality. The company will bring its Dunedin season to a close bn Wednesday night.
