Mr O. L. Ferens, secretary of th’a Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ _ Association, returned on Saturday night from, a visit to the West Coast. ,
Mr J. H. Gilbert, formerly manager of the Dunedin office of the Union Steam Ship Company, and now at head office, Wellington, was a passenger for Invercargill by this morning’s express, Mr A. N. Smith left by the express this morning for Wellington. Dr Cook travelled by the early train to-day on his return to Whangarei, Mr A. C. Hanlon left f,or Wellington by this morning’s express. Mr *G. Sullivan left this morning for Wellington to join the Makura, en route to Rarotonga. The following delegates from the Otago Provincial Council left this morning to attend the Dominion conference of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, to be held at Wellington, commencing to-morrow:—Mes-dames J. F. Drake, W. Elliott, A, Grant, and J. Clark, and Miss B. Finlayson.
