PRISONERS SENTENCED

[Pr.a United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, April 30. The fallowing prisoners were sentenced to-day by Mr Justice Reed, the Acting Chief Justice:— James Thomas Jamieson, on nine charges of breaking and entering and theft at Eltham, 12 months’ imprisonment. William Vernon Hammond, for breaking ami entering and theft at Blenheim, 15 months’ imprisonment with hard labour. James Berry, tor breaking and entering with intent at Wellington, 12 months’ imprisonment with hard labour, and declared an habitual criminal. George Armitagc, for indecent assault, two years’ imprisonment, Wereta Takurua, for assault with intent to commit rape, 12 months’ reformative detention. George Arthur Powell, for unlawful carnal knowledge, 12 months’ probation.
