The inquest concerning the death of John Talbert Edie, of Oroua Downs, single, aged 19, a native of Dunedin, who died as the result of injuries received when a motor car ran into lus bicycle on the night of March 28, was continued before the coroner (Mr J. W . Hornblow) at Foxton. yesterday afternoon. Simultaneously Bernard Maurice Greer, the driver of the car, was charged with negligently driving a car, thereby causing the death of Edie. The accused pleaded not guilty. The accused was committed for trial, bail being granted. . - The coroner adjourned the inquest sine die.
YOUNG FOOTBALLER INJURED. Facial iujuries wore suffered yesterday afternoon by John Burton, aged 14 vears (who resides at Roxburgh), which necessitated his removal to the Dunedin Hospital. The boy, who was injured while playing football at school, was admitted to the hospital at 7.25 p.m.
