VISIT OF CHRISTCHURCH HARMONIC SOCIETY

The Christchurch Harmonic Society’s choir is about to participate in one of the biggCst undertakings in its history. It has arranged to give a recital in the Dunedin Town Half on April 13. The choir, which will be conducted by Mr V. C. Peters, will number 120, and will probably be accompanied on the visit by another fifty enthusiasts from Christchurch. The impending visit to Dunedin is creating wide interest, and already many applications for seats at the recital have been received. A varied programme has been selected for the recital, and this will ine.lude the choruses from Bach’s ‘ Mass in 13 Minor.’ Holst’s 148th Psalm and ‘Turn Back. O Man,' Elgar’s 1 P>avariau Highlands ’ suite, part of Vaughan Williams’s ‘ In Windsor Forest.’ Sir Henry Wood’s arrangement of Handel’s operatic choruses, and the ‘ Faery Chorus ’ from Rutland Houghton’s new opera. 1 The Immortal Hour.’ The ‘ In Windsor Forest ’ choruses will be heard by the Dunedin audience for the first time in New Zealand.
