The Indian National Congress, at a meeting in Delhi, while expressing good wishes for the personal wellbeing of the King, calls on all Indians not to participate in the celebrations of the King’s jubilee on the ground that British rule in India “is a positive hindrance to the political, moral, and material growth of the nation, which is now threatened with a Constitution, which, if enforced, promises to exploit the nation and drain her of what wealth she still possesses, bringing her under political subjection as perhaps never hitherto attempted.”
