MR JAMES MAXTON
ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, January 21. (Received January 22, at noon.) Mr James Maxton, M.P., is affianced to Miss Madeline Glasier, an active member of the Independent Labour Party; who has worked in a voluntary capacity as his secretary for eleven years.
[Mr Maxton has been M.P. for the Bridgeton Division of Glasgow since 1922. Ho was married in 1919, but his wife died three years later. Mr Maxton, who is fifty years of age, is an M.A. of Glasgow' University. Before entering the House of Commons lie was a. school teacher.]
