POLICE COURT
TUESDAY, JANUARY 22. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) ALLEGED THEFT. Charles William Wood (thirty-two) was charged with stealing £2 17s 6d, the property of William M‘Kee, at Auckland on December 22, 1933. Mr O. Stevens appeared for the accused. Detective-sergeant Doyle asked for a remand until Tuesday next, stating that the police were not in possession of the full facts of the case. Mr Stevens asked for bail. The Detective Sergeant: The police have been looking for him for nearly two years. Mr Stevens said that the matter was a question of uplifting "ages and keeping them. Wood had made a statement to a detective at Wanganui, but was not arrested there. The remand was granted. Bail was refused.
