ABYSSINIA'S COMPLAINT AN APPEAL TO THE LEAGUE ' Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright GENEVA, December 15. (Received December 17, at 8.30 a.m.) Abyssinia has drawn the League’s attention to the frontier incidents on December 8, alleging Italian aggression. The Abyssinian Note complains that an Italian force on November 23 prevented an Anglo-Abyssinian mission from demarking pasture lands at Ualual, 100 kilometres within the frontier, It declares that Italian tanks and aeroplanes, without provocation, attacked the commission’s escort on December 5, and that Italian planes bombed Adoa Gerlogubi on December 9, The Italian Charge d’Affaires disregarded the Abyssinian protest, refused arbitration, and demanded an in-, demnity. ITALIAN ATTITUDE ROME, December 16. (Received December 17, at 1 a.m.) Official circles insist that the Abyssinians shall pay .£20,000 and do homage to the Italian flag in recognition of Italian territory under the 1908 agreement. The Abyssinian Charge d’Affaires protested to Italy alleging the non-de-livery of telegrams sent by the Abyssinian Government through Italian companies. ITALY'S REPLY ROME, December 16. (Received December 17, at 12.10 p.m.) Italy, in replying to the League to the Abyssinian Note, declines to submit to arbitration the Ualual incident. She alleges that the Abyssinian Army committed an unprovoked aggression, and insists on immediate reparations, including an apology by the Provincial Governor, punishment of offenders, and indemnity for.the killing and wounding of Italian native troops.
