A BUDGET DEFICIT PREMIER SUBMITS FIGURES. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY 7 , September 25. The Premier (Mr B. S. Stevens) submitted the State Budget in tho Legislative Assembly to-night. Tho total receipts for the year amounted to £42,568,929. and the expenditure to £45,777,320. leaving a deficit of £3,208,391, The estimated revenue for the current financial year is £42,322,619, and the expenditure /45,232,619, leaving a deficit of £2,910,000. Tho Premier said that further reduction in taxation would be made as soon as financial circumstances permitted. The number of registered unemployed has been reduced below 89,000, compared with 115,000 a year ago The Auditor-General reported Unit the receipts from income tax. tho unemployment relief tax, tho wages tax, and the familv endowment tax fell by £4,700,000.
