Houses with only one room total 20; those with two rooms 231; three rooms 589; four rooms 4,242; five rooms 4,914; six rooms 2,531; seven rooms 1,187 ; eight ro.oms 639 ; nine rooms 264 ; ten rooms 180; eleven rooms 55; twelve rooms 73; thirteen rooms 17- fourteen rooms 22; fifteen rooms 10; sixteen rooms 5; seventeen rooms 5; eighteen rooms 2; nineteen rooms 3; twenty rooms 3; twenty-two rooms 1; twentysix rooms 1.

On January 15, 1934, there were 40 shops and 73 houses vacant in the Greater Dunedin area.
