SINGLE BRICK BUILDINGS
LIMITED TO ONE STORY For a number of years many dwellings outside the “ brick area ’’ of the city have been constructed with their exterior walls of wooden studs faced on the outside with brick 4Jin thick, such brickwork taking the place of weatherboards (states the annual report of the town clerk). Following on an application received for the issue of a permit to construct a dwelling of two stories in this manner, the question of permitting its adoption in such cases was brought to notice. After due consideration of the whole matter, the Works Committee recommended that the employment of this type of construction be limited to one story only of all buildings to be erected in the future.
