(Received September 10, at 9 a.m.l The first of the three De Haviland Comet aeroplanes for the Melbourne air race completed a most successful test' flight at Hatfield. 1 It is the fastest Jane yet built in Britain. Captain Wii. Hope, who thrice won the King'* Cup Air Race, has been invited to pilot the machine in place of Flight-officer Rubin, who is unable to do so owing to illness.
