QUIET CAMPAIGN
THE FEDERAL ELECTIONS MR LYONS CONFIDENT Press Association—By Telegraph— Copyright. ' ■* SYDNEY, September 7. Although the Commonwealth elections are only a week off the campaign has so far been the quietest on record, which in a large measure is attributed to the high prestige of the Lyons Government. There has been none of the disorder or recrimination of the last election and far less propaganda. A considerable amount of campaigning has been carried on by means of broadcasting, which, owing to the protracted spell of extremely inclement weather, has enabled the electors to stay at home and hear the addresses in comfort.
The Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons) .arrived in Sydney to-day after a tour of Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, and Victoria. He said: “ There can be no doubt of the result on September 15. ■ Our workers in every State, are full of enthusiasm, and I am sure they are justified in expecting an overwhelming victory. My reception in all the States visited has been most , cordial. Seats that we lost at the last election in Queensland we expect to regain, and the only State where there may be some change is New South Wales, which will be due to a minor distribution of the boundaries of some electorates.
