RACES OF THE FUTURE
WHITES AND BLACKS GRADUAL MERGER Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 7. The suggestion that the white and black raises”6fthe Vorld may yet be‘ merged into one race was propounded by Lord Raglan at the meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science. He recalled an American' professor’s statement that there was perhaps not a single pure-bred negro in the United States, an,d that many whites also had a proportion of negro blood. “I believe it follows that before many centuries elapse there will not be a single person in the United States without a certain proportion of negro blood. Although the merging of the two races will not happen in Africa nearly so Soon, the Europeanisation of Africa is going on, and nothing will stop it.” ,
