WRESTLING
DEAH DETTON V. OR F. MEYER The match chosen for to-morrow, the night of the Wellington-Otago football match, could not be bettered as a star attraction, for, although these men, Dean Detton and Dr Meyer have mot before on several occasions, the result is still inconclusive. Fpr sparks and fireworks this match will stand out, for. both men are ready to make it willing at any time. Detton is the idol of the wrestling public this season. He has such a pleasing personality, and, like a schoolboy playing for his school, enjoys every minute of the contest, while all the time conforming to the spirit of the game. Dr Meyer is a wrestler of a different type, and the contrast makes for the best contest, Meyer is dour and determined, full of experience and the wiles that experience teaches. No one in New Zealand has greater variety of holds or varies his wrestling more, and enthusiasts need not be surprised if the Meyer they see on Saturday is altogether a different Meyer from that last seen in Dunedin. The cups won at the recent Otago amateur championships will be presented by the mayor during an interval. Particulars are advertised.
