OBITUARY

CAPTAIN POST [Per United Press Association.] ■ WELLINGTON, September 6. • The death occurred to-night of Captain Collin Francis Post, late of the Union Steam Ship Company and master of the Government steamer. The deceased was seventy-six years of age. [Captain Post first went to sea in the small coaster Lalrook 6ut_ of Onehunga, and about 1886 he joined the Union Steam Ship Company as third mate of the Roslyn when she first came put from England. Later he was appointed second officer of the Mararoa, and was later wharfinger at Wellington. Captain Post left that company to be appointed chief officer of the Government steamer Hinemoa, and later ho took command of her. He was afterwards appointed to command the Government steamer Tutanekai. During the war Captain Post served as a member of the Transport Board appointed by the Government. Since retiring from the Government service at the end of the war Captain Post had been living privately in Wellington.] ARCHDEACON COLE [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND; September 6. The death is announced of Archdeacon. H. H. Cole, formerly archdeacon of Taranaki. He had a varied ministerial career, and served m the Anglican Church in many parts of the Empire. He was seventy-four years or age.
