TWO YOUNG WOMEN CONVICTED OHE SENT TO GAOL [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September G. On the resumption of tho case m which two young women named Ruby Bulliffe and Olive May Fletcher are charged with theft counsel for the accused said that after further' consultation with his clients and the relatives of one of them ho desired to enter a pica of guilty and to have the case dealt with summarily. The magistrate remanded the accused till to-morrow tor a report from the woman probation officer. It was stated that all tho money had been recovered. ; September 7. Ruby Bulliffe was sentenced by Mr Page S.M., to two months’ imprisonment! Ho remarked that she had previous convictions for theft, breaches or probation, and escaping fx - om custody. Olive May Fletcher was ordered to come up for sentence if called on within twelve months, and was also ordered to pay £2 towards the expenses of witnesses. An order was made for the return of the stolen £ls to tho complainant, Kenneth Haywood Taylor. [Complainant, in evidence, said he met the two accused in the lounge ot the Regent Hotel. Ho accompanied them to a cabaret at Lyall Bay, where they had drinks and supper. ■ Alter supper he felt ill, and on the way to town he had to leave the taxi. 1 noaccused were very concerned and did their best to assist him, but when he got back to the taxi they were not there. On reaching tho hotel he found that his money was not in his pockets. Ho had had about eight drinks at the cabaret, and ho did .not recollect how much he had spent on liquor. When lie ordered the drinks he might have handed the money over to the girls. He did not know who paid the taxi on the return to town.]
