Sweetapple’s house, in Newmarket, Sydney George Boss (24), a labourer, was committed for trial today on a k charge of breaking and entering the house and stealing gold cups and a large quantity of jewellery, valued at £679. Evidence was given that accused sold to a gold buyer a quantity of brokenup gold and received £lO cash and a cheque for £2l 18s. The cheque was later stopped. Accused told the police that he got the gold from another man. He denied breaking into the house, but said he could get some of the stolen goods returned. Following this the police received a parcel containing some of the stolen jewellery. Accused was refused bail.
