FATAL COLLISION

EIGHTrYEAB-OLD GIRL KILLED THREE OTHERS INJURED [Per United Pres! Association.] AUCKLAND, July 29. A fata) motor collision occurred at the intersection of Orakei and Shore roads, Remuera, at mid-day to-day'. The victims were:— KILLED. * RUTH BEATRICE WARBURTON, aged eight years, a daughter of Mr Egbert Reuben Warburtou, of Ivohiraarama, the driver of one of the cars involved. INJURED. MRS ANNIE GERTRUDE WARBURTON, wife of Mr Warburtou—lnjuries to the head and one arm. GRAHAM WARBURTON, a sou, aged ll—Dislocated shoulder - , cuts, and abrasions. VALERIE WOOLLEY, aged five, a daughter of Mr and Mrs R. E. Woolley, of Kohimarama—Cuts and abrasions. Mr Warburton escaped injury, as did the driver of the other car involved, Mr D°Uglas Campbell Purdie, of ?’aryell. Accompanying Mr Purdie was Mr R. A- Siiiger, of Grafton road, who suffered a cut ou the left hand. Miss Ruth Warburton died shortly after being admitted to the Auckland hospital with extensive head injuries. The accident occurred when Mr Warburton was driving his family, accompanied by the girl Woolley, homo from church. After the collision, Mr Wapburton’s car mounted a grassy bank ahd came to rest with the radiator against a fencing post. The vehicle was extensively damaged. Mr Pufdie’s car did not bear evidence of extensive damage, although the metal work in front was crushed.
