TASMANIAN ELECTIONS
NOMINATIONS CLOSED PREMIER NOT STANDING. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright HOBART, May 16. Nominations have closed for tho State General Elections on June 9. There are seventy-seven nominations for thirty vacancies. All tho retiring members of the Assembly have been renominated, but the Premier (Mr J. C. M'Phee), who is retiring from politics on account of ill-health. The candidates comprise forty-one Nationalists, twenty-seven Labourites, and nine Independents.
