WORK OF THE COMMISSION MANY ACRES PLANTED WITH TREES. (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, May 15. Sixteen thousand acres were added to the woodlands of Great Britain during the year which ended September 30 last. Nearly 52,000,000 trees were planted under the direction of the Forestry Commission. It is the aim of the commissioners to acquire each year the same acreage of plantable land as that planted, so that the area in wood shall remain as nearly as possible intact. The total area now planted by the commissioners in fourteen years is 232,711 acres.
