Two South Africans arc the only dominion players of 225 entrants in the British amateur championship. .'There is a strong American challenge as all the Walker Cup players, who arc already practising at St. Andrews, have entered. The draw is unkind to the Americans, seven of whom are in the top half. Ouimct and Gns Noroland will meet in the first round.
