[Pb* United Pbmb Absocution.] ■WELLINGTON, May 1. “ As captain of the team I would like officially to thank the New Zealand Golf Association for its hospitality to ns during our visit and to express tho hope that these friendly contests will continue and will grow in importance and popularity both in New Zealand and in Australia,” writes Mr Eric Apperly, captain of the Australian team which met New Zealand in the KirkWindeyer Cup match at Auckland last month, to Mr G. 0. Sutton, secretary of the New Zealand Golf Association. “ Their friendly spirit, however, is their greatest asset,” he continues, ‘ and it is to bo hoped that however important they become they will never be played in too serious a vein and that the result will never he considered more important than the game itself. The team which wo played against on this occasion was an ideal one in this respect.”
