ANOTHER ZANE GREY STORY

GEORGE O'BRIEN IN ' LAST TRAIL ' A Western drama with only one cowboy briefly describes Zane Grey’s latest and most original production, ‘ The Last Trail,’ which commences at the Strand Theatre on Friday. George O’Brien, long rioted for his performance of Western roles, here has oua that gives him heart-warming opportunities. He is one Westerner amid A group of Eastern beer-runners ■ gone into the cattle-rustling game, ana acquits himself with great vigour. Olßrien’s horsemanship is always a delight to watch, and in ‘ The Last Trail ’ he really outdoes himself. As his leading lady, O’Brien has again selected the comely and capable Claire Trevor, who is surely on her way to screen celebrity. There is an ease and assurance about her performance that speaks volumes for her ability. The transplanted racketeers in ‘ The Last Trail ’ are after a ranch, and they use O’Brien as the decoy with which they intend to capture it. They do not know that he is in reality the owner of the ranch, and that they are letting themselves into a pretty trap. But O’Brien plays their game, and with the help of Miss Trevor, posing as his wife, outwits the gangsters and succeeds in apprehending them for the police. There is an abundance of comedy that is admirably handled by El Brendel, Matt M‘Hugh, and Lucii.rf la Verne.
