THE VINSON BILL REPLY TO ANTI-WAR ADVOCATES Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, January 30. The Speaker (Mr Henry T. Rainey) to-day received a delegation of antiwar advocates requesting defeat of the Vinson Naval Bill and curtailment of the appropriations for military reserves. In replying, Mr Rainey expressed the hope that “ there would be no war between Japan and Russia this spring,” but added: “ Disbanding oux; array and navy and turning over the civilian conservation corps to civilian management would greatly encourage Japan in her moves towards Russia.” Sir Rainey indicated that he would not defer consideration of the Vinson Bill, and expects its early passage.
