JUBILEE REGATTA
The final details in connection with the jubilee regatta are now practically complete. The generosity of the various firms who have given cups for competition at the regatta is greatly appreciated by the committee, and it is expected that the competition will be particularly keen. In previous years cups have not been a feature of the regattas at Port Chalmers, and it is fitting that competition for these will commence with the jubilee event. The rowing and sailing events will be held over a course which will allow of the public obtaining an excellent view of each event from the wharves to the dock. Seating accommodation is being arranged by the committee on the wharf and also at the docks. The Regatta Committee would be grateful if the residents of Port Chalmers will display bunting, and it is said that there is a possibility that business people in the town will decorate their premises. Jf this eventuates the town will present a scene reminiscent of the early regatta days*
