‘S.O.S.’
DUNEDIN REPERTORY SOCIETY An appreciative attendance witnessed the final performance of ‘ S.O.S. ’ by the Dunedin Repertory Society at His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday night. Greater confidence enabled the players to produce an even more successful interpretation than on the previous nights, and all the members of the cast acquitted themselves hdmirably. Among the most successful characterisations was that of Mr Fred Gair, who was seen in the role of Sir Julian Weir, while another who contributed largely to the success of the evening was Mr Douglas Dali as Owen Heriot. Miss Dorothy Clark was delightfully natural as Judy Weir, and others who acquitted themselves with distinction were Mr Wyvern De Clive Lowe and Miss Jeain Lennox. So enjoyable was the whole performance that theatregoers will look forward with interest to the presentation of the next of the society’s efforts, which, it is understood, will be Sir James Barrie’s ‘ Dear Brutus.’
