PRODUCTION AND MARKETING ALBERTA FARMERS REJECT STRIKE PROPOSAL. Frees Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. CALGARY, January 20. Rejecting the proposal that farmers should strike by refusing to- grow wheat, as a protest against the low prices allowed to them, the annual convention of the United Farmers of Alberta to-day urged the National Wheat Board to control production and marketing and to guarantee production costs to farmers. ' The strike proposal was given some ■upport as a measure bringing to the attention of the Government the plight of western agriculture, but the proposal was deemed impractical and Offering too many advantages to agriculture in foreign countries. A majority voted. down the strike proposal.
