MAN WITH A GUN
AMERICAN HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES MEMBERS STARTLED Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, December 13. (Received December 14, at 11.25 a.m.) A man giving the name of Martin Kemerer, from Allentown (Pennsylvania), stood up in the gallery of the House of Representatives on Tuesday. Covering the floor with a revolver he waved the gun toward members. Representatives looked up startled. Some headed for the cloakrooms. “ I want the floor for a few minutes,” the man shouted. He stood a few moments waving his gun; then Representative Melvin Maas (Republican, Minnesota) walked across the chamber directly below him and said: “ Throw down that gun.” He pitched the gun to Mr Maas, who caught it. The police rushed into the gallery and seized the man. The House then resumed its proceedings.
