MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Otago Football Association was held last evening, when Mr J. Simpson occupied the chair. A letter from the Mornington Club complained about the close proximity of the hookey nets to the Soccer nets on the Oval No 1 ground.—Referred to Grounds Committee, to act. The Secretary of the “ Come to Dunedin Week advised that a tug-of-war competition would bo held in the Town Hall on May 2(1, and invited the association to enter a team of six members before next Saturday.—The matter was left to the clubs to enter teams if they desired. The postponing of the matches last Saturday caused considerable discussion. After an explanation had been given by the Grounds Committee it was resolved that a letter be sent to_ the City Council expressing the association’s regret that the council officials should have the power to prevent matches being played on city reserves when members of tho association’s Grounds Committee consider the areas fit for play. CHATHAM CUP. Entries for the Chatham Cup competition were received from the following clubs:—Seacliff, Northern, Maori Hill, and Mosgiel. The High School Old Boys’ Club asked for an extension of time for the reception of entries.—On the motion of Mr M'lnncs it was decided to advise the Old Boys’ Club that the arranging of the dates was outside the jurisdiction of the Otago Association, and that adivee had just been received from tho New Zealand Council stating that the closing date had been put forward to May 14. On the motion of Mr F. Ball it was decided that Chatham Cup matches be played on Friday and Saturday, Juno 3 and 4, in town, and that players resident in either Mosgiel, Seacliff, or Port Chalmers have their fares paid from the gate takings.
