PETITION TO KING ALLEGATIONS AGAINST GOVERNMENT Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 12. (Received January 12, at 9 a.iu.) The New Guard’s petition to tho King praying for dissolution of the New South Wales Assembly declares that certain members of Parliament are protected disloyalists, Communists, and seditionists. They allowed the use of school buildings for the propagation of seditious doctrines. They even appointed persons to the Legislative Council who are avowedly disloyal. The Government repudiated its debts to bondholders, and has enacted legislation gravely infringing the rights of tho people. The petition is being circulated throughout New South Wales, and is expected to bo extensively signed.
OPENING dF HARBOUR BRIDGE
OPPOSITION TO MR LANG.
SYDNEY, January 12. (Received January 12, at 10 a.m.)
Captain Campbell stated: “Tho people of New South Wales will not permit Mr Lang to open the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Wo in our generation are for ever dishonoured if wo allow Mr Lang to open the and wo of the New Guard tell him now that he will not be given that honour. Let us see that somebody of quality, if possible some Prince of royal blood, opens it on behalf of the people of this State.”
Reverting to tho petition, Captain Campbell said: “If it is not granted then I will put before you for adoption other means quite lawful and appreciated by constitutional lawyers of high standing, but, believe me, very, A-ery effective.”
ENGAGED AS FIRE FIGHTERS TWO HUNDRED VOLUNTEERS. SYDNEY, January 11. A fleet of motor buses arrived at Cobar with 200 picked members of the New Guard for duty as fire fighters. It so happens that most of the fires are either out or under control, but local graziers are availing themselves of the volunteers’ services for checking new outbreaks.
