HINDENBURG'S RE-ELECTION HERR HITLER RESERVES DECISION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. BERLIN, January 7. A conference was held between Dr Bruening, Herr Hitler, and Dr Groener with the object of securing suppmt of the Nazi Party, which is essential to President Hindenburg’s re-election as Reich President on May 5. This is considered vital by the Government, inasmuch as President Hindenburg’s personality is Germany’s greatest asset. Herr Hitler reserved his decision. HERR HITLER’S CONDITIONS. LONDON, January 8. (Received January 9, at, 1.30 a.m.) The ‘ Daily Telegraph’s ’ Berlin correspondent says that Herr Hitler stated that he was making his support conditional on the virtual repudiation of the reparations clauses of the Versailles Treaty, apparently in the form of a unanimous resolution from the Reichstag to the effect that Germany would never again be in a position to pay reparations.
