TRUE PATRIOTISM
Onco again the Queen has shotfn w’omen of the country where true patriotism lies. Her Majesty has started her Christmas shopping by the purchase, at the Leathersellcrs’ Hall, of over fifty British handbags. With Lady Joan Verney the Queen made the tour of the stands in the hall five times, and commented on the marvellously low prices. A white bag the Queen bought had a secret pocket for cigarettes _ and matches concealed behind a mirror, wdiich much amused her. Tbo Queen bought a big handbag with a jewel pocket concealed in a false lining, a stout looking lock, and miniature jew’el cases with flaps of wash-leather. Several of the Royal purchases were bags of chameleon skin.
