ELSTON-TOSH. A quiet but very pretty wedding took place on New Year’s morning at the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church between Miss Daphne Dorothy Tosh and Mr Ernest Edward Elston. The Rev. Scott Allen performed the ceremony. The bride was a dainty figure. As she came up the aisle on the arm of her father she wore a green and gold floral georgette frock, with coatee. Her hat and shoes of old gold made a pretty contrast, and she carried a beautiful sheaf of cream roses and carnations. Her sister, Miss Veida Tosh, acted as bridesmaid, and was. charmingly frocked in pale lemon, with large picture hat, and carried a bouquet of contrasting shades. The mother of the bride chose a red-and-black georgette frock, with smart black hat, and carried a posy of red roses. The bridegroom was attended by Mr William Moffat as best man. After the ceremony a small reception was held by the bride’s mother at her residence, St. Helier’s Court, Caversham. The happy couple left for Queenstown amid showers of confetti and good wishes of their many friends. The bride’s travelling dress was tomato colour satin, with a smart tweed coat and hat of brown, and she carried a brown skin bag and umbrella, the gifts of the bridegroom. M'FARLANE—RAWLINS. . A very pretty wedding was solemnised m the Memorial Methodist Church, Port Chalmers, on January 1, when Emmeline, elder daughter of Mrs M. A. Rawlins, was married to Mr C. R. T. M'Farlane, of Port Chalmers. The R«v. T. A. Pybus officiated. Miss Eunice Ramsay,_ of Timaru, and Miss Edith Rawlins, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaids. Messrs D. L. Ramsay and E,_ Parsons acted as groomsmen. The bride, who wa given away by her uncle, Mr T, Facer, wore a handsome gown of cream georgette, with overdress of silk lace. She was adorned with the orthodox veil and orange blossom, and carried in her hand a pretty shower,bouquet. Both bridesmaids wore dainty cornflower-blue georgette frocks, with insets of silk lace, with diamante buckles, and hats of blue lace to match. The bride’s mother wore a navy blue floral silk dress, and carried a bouquet of red roses. The church, which was well filled, was tastefully decorated. The ‘ Wedding March ’ was played by Miss Shanks, and the wedding hymn sung by the congregation. After the ceremony the guests adjourned to the Buffalo Hall to partake of the wedding breakfast, where the Rev. T. A. Pybus presided over a happy party.
