(Received January 8, at 11 a.m.’, After a Cabinet meeting lasting twelve hours Mr Lyons announced that Cabinet had decided to repeal the regulations made under the Transport Workers Act giving preference to waterside unionists. Mr Lyons said these regulations had been made by the last Government after the Government had been defeated, and at a time when it did not have a majority in either House. The regulations gave preference to members of tho Waterside Workers’Federation, which had been definitely refused by the Arbitration Court.
