A FLAWLESS CRIME
JEWELLERY STOLEN FROM PACKET POST OFFICE DETECTIVES BAFFLED Frets Association —By Telegraph Copyright. LONDON, December 27. (Received December 28, at 12.45 p.m.) Described as a flawless crime, a registered packet of emeralds and diamonds, valued at £B,OOO, vanished under the eyes of Post Office detectives m the course of transit from Hatton Garden to'Regent street. The theft was not discovered until the packet was delivered, when it was found to contain cotton wool instead’ of jewels. It is believed that an international gang, one of whom was disguised as a postman, is responsible.
