IN A BAD POSITION Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, SYDNEY, December 19. The Newton Elm grounded eight miles from Crescent Head, to which news was carried by a horseman. Captain Toder states that the ship is lying easily on a sandy shoal and that it ia hoped to float her off by the_ evening tide. There is a crew of thirty and no passengers. December 20. The Newton Elm is still aground and in a bad way.
