FIRE AND STONE IMPLEMENTS IMPORTANT DISCOVERIES IN CHINA { Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, November 5. (Received November 6, at 10.30 a.m.) The Peking man living at least 1,000,000 years ago used fire and stone implements, reports the Chinese Geological Society after four years’ search. In a cave at Chou Koutien the expedition discovered cunningly made tools. Professor Elliot Smith (professor of anatomy at London University) declares that the news is of absolutely first rate importance, and proves that the oldest men thus far discovered must have had an even more primitive ancestor.
