COLLAPSE IN DOCK
MECCA OIL FRAUDS [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October C. Morton Parker Pimeutal, promoter of the Mecca Oil Company, was last evening foimd guilty by the jury of obtaining money by false pretences. He had represented himself as representing a big oil company, whereas his method was to buy oil locally and sell it at an increased price. When Pimcntal appeared for sentence the judge said ho would take no notice of tho jury’s recommendation to mercy unless Pimcntal made restitution. Ho alone knew where the money was. Counsel went to speak to the prisoner,, but Pimental collapsed in the dock. Sentence was deferred till to-morrow.
