AEROPLANE V. MOTOR CYCLE
THRILLING RACE TO-MORROW Spectators at the dirt track meeting at For bury Park to-morrow afternoon will be treated to one of the most thrilling spectacles ever witnessed in a Dunedin arena, when the Avro-Avian aeroplane, piloted by Captain George Bolt, will race against a motor cycle ridden by one of the local speed kings. The aeroplane will circle within 50ft of the ground, and will cover five laps of the ground. The motor cycle, getting away from a flying staid;, will do four laps. In addition to this event, which will be the big attraction of the afternoon, Captain’Bolt, who is a daring and skilful aviator, will perform a series of hair-raising stunts which should he one of the best ever seen here. Twelve dirt track races are to be staged during the afternoon, and with many crack riders from all parts of the South Island competing some sensational racing should he witnessed, Many new machines will bo seen in action, and previous speed records for the track will be cracked. The -track and field events have also drawn large entries, and a splendid afternoon’s sport should be witnessed.
