ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting-of .the Kiwi Rifle Club was held in the Y.M.C.A.--' Glub room last evening, the president (Mr F. J. Silvias) presiding over a good attendance of members. The annual report disclosed a credit balance of over £B, and in moving its adoption the Chairman said that at the beginning of last season a number of members had done good work in clearing the range of gorse and setting grass seed. The 600yds mound had been altered, and there were a number of sandbags yet to ba< : stacked in position.' The Ladies’ Challenge Shield had-again been secured by the club for the eighth year running, and, as suggested in the report, it was, time .some .other, club won. the competition,, so that it would not be altogether one-sided. It was proposed to enter a colts’ team in the competition this year. 1 Members whose names had appeared on-the shield ,over three times would now have to stand down and give other men "a chance. Speaking to the report Mr F._ Clayton :■ congx-atulated Riflemim'R. Gtllick on winning the charopioriship gard to the recommendation that those who had been in the winning team in the Ladies’ Challenge -Shield competition for more than three times should let others secure the trophy, he was sure it was a good proposal, 'and members who were barred through this scheme would not be discouraged;- They would willingly give up their opportunities to allow the younger riflemen to come forward. He concluded by congratulating Deputy-president R. Bruce and .Rifleman W. Mills’on theii excellent shooting during the season. ' ’ The secretary and treasurer also spoke to the report and balance-sheet, which were adopted.
