RADIO BROADCASTING

TO-NIGHT'S NEW ZEALAND PROGRAMMES There will bo a band concert at IY-iV this evening, contributed by tho Auckland Artillery Band. The vocal portion of the programme will be provided by the Olympians. They will rung the quartet entitled ‘ Echoes.’ The solo numbers will include ‘A Spirit Flower’ and 1 Garden of Happiness,’ to be sung by Miss D. Youd. ‘ Thank God For a Garden’ and ‘My Ain Wee Hoose ’ will be given by Miss Martha Williamson. Mr Lambert Harvey will sing ‘Macushla ’ and ‘Gingham Gown.’ Mr H. Barry Coney will sing ‘ Young Dietrich ’ and ‘ Grendon Fair.’ There will be elocutionary items by Miss G. Gamman. . _ The operatic airs in this evening’s programme at 3YA will include a solo from ‘Les Huguenots,’ sung. by Miss Merle Miller, and the ever-popular ‘La Donna e Mobile ’ (from ‘Rigoletto ’), sung by Mr Harold Prescott. Miss Miller will also sing Tschaikowsky’s ‘To the Forest,’ ‘ Heart’s Ease ’ (Willeby), and ‘Still ns Night’ (BohnD. Miss Eileen Grennell (soprano) will sing ‘ Tho Cry of Rachel,’ ‘ The Old Refrain,’ and ‘Nightingales of June.’ Further tenor solos by Mr Prescott 1 will be ‘ Lord Randall,’ ‘ Awake, Beloved,’ and ‘ Sally in Our Ally.’ Mr Fred. C. Penfold (baritone) will sing ‘The Bandolero,’ ‘For Yon Alone,’ and ‘ To-morrow.’ There will bo two elocutionary numbers by Mr Hiram Dunford*. Miss A. Harley Slack, late of the Sydney Conservatorium, will contribute two. pianoforte selections, and a varied ■. programme will be provided by the Studio Orchestra under Mr Harold Beck. _ At 4YA the evening’s programme will be provided by the Four Aces Concert Party. A programme of dance music will follow, relayed from the Bank of New Zealand ball. Pioneers’ Hall. Silent day for-, 2YA.
