MONTHLY MEETING OF COMMITTEE Tho monthly meeting of tlie committee of the Otago Early Settlers’ Association was held in the board room yesterday afternoon, the president (Mr F. W. Knight) occupying the chair. The following gifts were received and votes of thanks passed to tho donors From John Hind (Lawrence), family chart. 1016-1899, and a number of other interesting papers; A. G. Homer (Dunedin), framed photo of Quinton M‘Kinnon, discoverer of Milford-To Anau track, also photo of Lawrencc-Cale-donian bowlers, 1834; John Battrick (Ualclutha), very old verge watch brought to New Zealand by his late grandfather, Charles Tuck (William Mills, 1860), also a very old parasol, about 100 years old, brought to New Zealand hv his late grandmother, Mrs C. Tuck (William. Mills, 1860); J. L. Passmore (Dunedin), first radio set made in Dunedin, made by himself, 1902; Miss Bannatync, Royal terrace, framed portraits of her late parents, Mr and Mrs W. L _ Bannatyne, Royal terrace, early ’sixties The following deaths were reported;— Sampson Uren, Timaru (85), Phoebe Dunbar, 1863; John Stenhouse, Lawrrenco (87), City of Dunedin, 1864; Mrs J. A. Townsend, Waikouaiti (79), ’sixties; William Meek Weston (89), Electra, 1863; A. V. Harrison, Auckland (90), Gabriel’s’ Gully, 1861; Andrew Hood, Auckland (94), Gabriel’s Gully, 1861; Mrs J. MMutosh, Mount Cargill (85), ’sixties: William V. Lindsay, Waianawa (77), arrived 1860JPohn Lindsay. Waianawa (79), arrive’ 1 860; James Turnbrill. Gore (77), City r Dunedin, 1863; Miles MGnnes.Omaknn (94), early ’sixties- Mrs William Borlase. Sawyers Bay (Queen of India, 1865) : Captain Fahvard Wing, Auckland (87), Dunedin early ’sixties; Mrs Tames Dickson, Dunedin (70), arrived 1 862; Dr John Feild Deck (94), arrived Invercargill. 1864. The fol'owing early settler was enrolled— :Mrs Emily Williams (nee Mathie), 12 Crossley terrace, Wellington (George Canning. 1857). Twelve descendants were also en--o’led.
