BRITISH BUDGET
ESTIMATES FOR YEAR (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. HUG BY, March 4. With the exception of the figures relating lo the Navy, the totals of all the estimates for the coming financial vear have now been published, ft is anticipated that the Admiralty requirements will be practically on the same level as last year (£57,000,000), and it is therefore possible lo forecast the approximate total estimate of expenditure which the Chancellor of the Exchequer will have to face in preparing his Budset next month. In round figures next war’s expenditure will be approximately £799,000.000.- OF this sum £055,000.000 is required for services of debt, £110,200,000 for t.bo defence services, £008,500,000 for the Revenue Department, and £23,000,000 for miscellaneous Consolidated Fund services. The Post Office estimate, however, must he deducted from this total, as its expenditure will be more than balanced bv revenue. This will reduce the amount of expenditure to be met to approximatelv £741.000,000. Discussion in Parliament on the estimates of the various departments will commence this week.
