(Received January 28, at 11.50 a.m.) At the wool sales 8,756 bales were sold, of which 5,256 were Australian and 3,012 New Zealand. There was an excellent selection of all classes. The tone was strong and bidding brisk. The prices generally were very firm. New Zealand:—“HW/TR,” 2]*d and 19d; “ Awapapa,” 22d and 20d. LONDON MARKETS. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd. have received the following cablegram Irom London, dated 26th inst.; —Market for New Zealand lamb dull and declining, demand poor. Market for New Zealand mutton firm, demand moderate. Market for Australian mutton weak, demand limited. Market lor Australian lamb weak, demand runs principally on finest qualities. Quotations are as lotlows for frozen meat: —New Zealand prime North Island lamb, 28-J6lb, 10Jd ; 3(3-421b, lOd; New Zealand North Island second quality, 9d; New Zealand prime North Island mutton, 4S-oblb, 6id; 56-641 b, fkl; 64-721 b, 5 3-8/1; ewes, 48.641 b, sd; G.A.Q. Australian lamb, 28-361 b, 9d; F.A.Q. Australian mutton, 40-60 lb, not quoted; b.A.Q. Australian mutton, 30-5511), od; Argentine chilled, hinds s|d, tores 4d; English porkers, 80-lOOlb, JOd; New Zealand porkers, 80-1001 b, 7id; New Zealand porkers, 100-1201 b, Vd; New Zealand haconers, 1701 b and over, not quoted; pork market weak and demand poor. Cheese market is dull, Danish butter market is quiet, especially for finest. Quotations are as follow; Danish butter, 168 s to 170 s; New Zealand finest, 152 s to 1535; Australian finest, unsalted 150 sto 1525, salted 148 s to 150 s; Australian G.A.Q., 152 s to 1465; Australian cheese, white and colored, 86s to 88S; New Zealand cheese, white, 88s to 90s; New Zealand cheese, colored, 88s to 89s; Canadian cheese, white 98s to 102 s, colored 96s to 100 s; Canadian, c.i.f , 100 s.
